Too Hot Bolers
Flashback Cranbrook BC August 2015, it was hot as Hades, stifling and muggy, the blast-furnace-like temperatures forcing us to rethink our day. Plus thirty degree weather is our Kryptonite and venturing out into the woods for a hike or even simple exploration seemed like sheer lunacy. Sweat and fatigue and sun burns? No way was that would work. We surrender to the heat!
For lack of a better idea we we plan-b-ed it for a time, entertaining ourselves by driving around town, air conditioner blasting, in search of Boler trailers. On realizing the general pointlessness of it all – gosh sometimes I question what we do – mere minutes into the exercise, even after finding two trailers in quick succession (it was so hot we shot them from the car), we retreated to a cool pub for an icy cold one or two. Not a bad compromise I guess.
Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. We make a fun game spotting them on our road trips adventures. We also include other similar trailers here, those from other manufacturers who are close in appearance or configuration to Bolers.
