Roam at Night

Another instalment where Chris & Connie train to be better night photographers and share the results with you. Low light shooting is an area we have much interest in, but struggle with. The big problem, which we’re not the least bit ashamed to admit (outside the fact that meds don’t allow us to do it too often) is focus control. Seems we stumble there a lot. So with some advice from those who know, we head out and shoot and shoot and shoot. Practice makes perfect they say.

It’s not so much about what we capture at this point but the technical aspects of the photos, which here turned out as we hoped. They look nice and sharp, exposed well, no noise. Premium subjects, rural ones too, will come later.

Still there’s some interesting stuff here, a house with a train track running through the front yard (we documented if before, here: Industrial Park Living). This dwelling is one of a few in what is otherwise a heavy industrial area of town – note the huge grain elevator in back. And just a stone’s throw away the Red House Restaurant along Ogden Road just before it closes for the day.

I think we’re getting an understanding.

Short Subjects: reports that for any number of reasons are brief in nature. They might be updates to older articles, previews of posts planned or not yet published, brief snippets of things that don’t fit in anywhere else or subjects that are so obscure that information on them can’t be found. Or sometimes we just ramble on about Lord knows what.

If you need any more information on what we talked about here, by all means contact us!

Date of adventure: January, 2018.
