The SAIT Pinball

It’s a giant pinball (ball). Big and steel and glistening in the sun, it takes this here author back to the days when the game was the only thing on my mind. If I had a quarter, I was at the arcade. Skipped school a lot to partake in my drug of choice and the arcade owner was my dealer. And it was not the Space Invaders or the Pac Mans but the Captain Fantastics, the Xenons, the Black Knights. It was like a religion and I was its biggest convert. And the passion for the game has never left…as you can see by browsing this website. Still enjoy it immensely…but lost the skill I used to have and now rarely ever get high score as I used to do.

Buried underneath the shiny orb, here in front of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s circa 1920s Heritage Hall, is a time capsule from 2016 to be opened one hundred years later. It contains all the usual trappings, campus newspapers, sports mementos, trinkets and coins and other stuff. I’ll be long gone by then – wonder if the world will still be spinning – the way its going.

Felling inspired to play. Now it’s off to the local pub to drop a few loonies – seems more and more places are getting these machines so they’re not so hard to find anymore. Limber up them flipper fingers, it’s time to take on the silver ball!

On the subject of pinball…
Keeping the Faith.

Short Subjects: reports that for any number of reasons are brief in nature. They might be updates to older articles, previews of posts planned or not yet published, brief snippets of things that don’t fit in anywhere else or subjects that are so obscure that information on them can’t be found. Or sometimes we just ramble on about Lord knows what.

If you need any more information on what we talked about here, by all means contact us!
