Bolers @ Dino Provincial Park
One amazing weekend…and seems so long ago now. We’re in Dinosaur Provincial Park in late May 2018, and we’re here to take in anything and everything it has to offer. Out there along the Red Deer River near the town of Brooks we pay this most special place a visit, going on a dinosaur hunt, exploring the Badlands and camping in style. And we’re here to record it all for publication on this here website (links below) and others. And let me tell you what a time it was. Following in out footsteps is something we’d highly recommend you do!
And in the campground, of course, we find some Bolers. We knew we would. So once our assignment was done each evening we’d wander about and see what treasures we’d discover. And there was a few, scattered about among the big Prairie Schooners and more humble tents, two thirteen foot Bolers almost side by side, one seventeen foot Boler and even a Trillium. The latter is the most common of all the little fibreglass trailers and is still in production to this day. We really should give them more respect.
The year 2018 started off slowly for Boler spotting. In fact the ones seen here were some of the first of the year. But later things would take off and it’d be a record breaker with some seventy nine Bolers seen, beating the previous best year, 2013, by over a dozen! And while we didn’t mange to photograph them all – out there in the wild it can be hit and miss – but those we did get pictures of will soon be making an appearance on this here website. You can bet on it.
And that Pontiac Solstice? Well it does match the jacket.
The FUN we had…
Fossil Prospecting @ Dino Provincial Park.
Shoulder Season @ Dino Provincial Park.
Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. We make a fun game spotting them on road trips and adventures. We also include other similar trailers here, those from other manufacturers who are close in appearance or configuration to Bolers.
