GM Parlour Coach

No matter the location, weather, or any other factor, we’ll fit in a walk each and every day. It’s our Tesla recharge and as an added bonus, we’ll often pass something along the way that’s fascinating to us. You know, a Boler trailer, some old truck, maybe see a passing train, or who knows what. Case in point here, a nice 1950s GM Parlour Coach, spotted while strolling about Revelstoke British Columbia.

We’re in town just because and post dinner we’re exploring the Big Eddy section of town on foot, there across the Columbia River. It’s got a decidedly different feel compared to Revelstoke proper, a mix of lower density residential (+ big lots) and light industrial. That formula means there’s lots of potential hiding places for the things we seek. We do stack the deck and plan these so they take place in more interesting areas, when possible.

This highway bus is from the early 1950s and either a GM PD-4102, or more likely by the numbers, a PD-4103 model. The two are very close in appearance and it takes something more than our limited brain power to distinguish them. Experts, we’re looking at you! It appears intact and perhaps was a motorhome conversion or will be fodder for one. Either way, what a beauty, but what’s the deal with the girl riding a bomb? Inspired by Strangelove?
