Highway Boler
More often than not the little fibreglass trailers we stumble across are static, that is parked somewhere in storage or maybe in use at a campground. To find one in motion, like seen here, is less common and worthy of note. A lot of stars have to align for this to happen, and makes this highway Boler an extra special treat. Sure, there’s always a number of them out on road, but to actually cross paths and have the camera ready when it happens, while similarly moving, comes with big odds.
This example was found on the QE2 south of Red Deer and captured as best we could as we sped past at near light speeds. You take what you can. The old BIGDoer-mobile was smoking hard, screaming like a banshee, with the bald, out balance tires shaking violently. I pretty sure they’re not rated for this kind of speed, but damn, there’s places to go and anyway, they haven’t exploded yet! And soon the Boler was in our rearview.
The date is summer of 2020 and this proof that our hopes of catching up and posting current finds is a pipedream.

Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass camping trailer made in Canada in the 1960s to 1980s and we make a fun game spotting them on road trips or adventures. We’ll also include similar trailers from other manufacturers that are close in appearance or configuration to Bolers.
