Good Morning Equity Alberta
Good morning Equity Alberta! We’re on the ground at sunrise (and a gorgeous one it is), just south of this little dot on the map and looking at this relatively modern Cargill grain terminal. It’s not really historic in any sense, but it’s so pretty as a picture, we just had to take a photo. It’s late winter, with a deep-deep chill in the air, and let me tell you, the buttons on the camera don’t work well when you wear thick gloves. Yet somehow it all came together.
This grain terminal came on the scene relatively recently, late 1990s from what we can tell (anyone able to confirm?). It sits along the CN’s north/south secondary line between Edmonton and Calgary and served by the railway every once in a while. We’ve passed it by countless times but only once seen railcars being loaded, so we don’t think it happens often.
We stand there, in the soft light and mesmerized by the scene and in the right conditions even something industrial in form like this can look beautiful. And now we can’t feel our legs…

Thanks for adding to the story! Managed to catch them loading railcars there a couple years bac and that’s the only time we’ve ever seen any action at the place.
That’s where you took off?
Couldn’t sleep…
