Back Alley Boler

We came to look at the classic Cadillac we saw down this alley. Old cars are another passion (of many) and so if we see one weā€™ll often stop to check it out. With this chance spotting came a pleasant surprise and unseen from our original position itā€™s something special hidden behind the hedges. You guessed it, we found another Boler. Truth is, many times theyā€™re discovered in a rather random fashion such as this. Weā€™ll be out exploring, they might be the last thing our mind and on rounding some corner, one magically comes into view. It happens all the time!

That we get out a lot helps the odds and on a good year, we might see fifty or more, along with a swack of other little trailers that of the era (Trilliums, Surfsides, Beachcombers and whatever). Back alleys seem to be one of the more common haunts, so youā€™ll often find us peering down any we pass by. Itā€™s an instinctive motion. This one was found in April of 2020.

The Cadillac is a 1961 model and looks in decent shape. Tires holding airā€¦check. Fuzzy diceā€¦check! Tailfinsā€¦CHECK! Retro roadtrip! We were equally thrilled to find this old land yacht but then again being easily amused is our thing.

Keeping this Boler company is a fourth generation Ford Mustang. The building seen in back is pretty interesting and is an old electrical substation. A bit of backstory: Roam at Night. Weā€™re pretty certain those tracks supported a trolley used to move heavy stuff about.

Say it with me and say it loud ā€“ BOLER!

From the same card dumpā€¦
Valley Farm ā€“ serene, peaceful and a long time empty.

Boler: A small cute-as-a-bug fibreglass travel trailer made in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. We make a fun game spotting them on road trips and adventures. We also include other similar trailers here, those from other manufacturers who are close in appearance or configuration to Bolers.

Thatā€™s a fine caddy! My dad had one like it back when I was a kid.
